Josey Ranch Gearing Up for 2024 Season

Have you been to Barrel Racer Disneyland? No? Well pull up a chair and I’ll tell you all about it!
In the quaint little town of Marshall, Texas nestled in the Northeast corner of the state is the one place barrel racers dream to visit. Just a few miles off I-20 you will find the world-famous Josey Ranch, home to barrel racing icon Martha Josey, and the longest running calf roping and barrel racing school in the U.S.
If you happen to be in East Texas and slip into the Josey Ranch for a visit this month, don’t be surprised by the flurry of activity as Martha and her team are preparing the ranch and the Josey Western Store for the next 10 months of clinics and races including 4 clinics across the nation.
“This is our favorite time of year!” said 11-time NFR Qualifier Martha Josey. “It is like preparing for the biggest family reunion you have ever seen. Because once you cross that gate, you are part of the Josey Family.”
Already students are packing their bags and making travel plans for the 2024 line up of 17 clinics and 3 big races, the Josey Reunion, The Josey Jr World, and the Josey Senior Gold Cup. These races historically offer huge payouts, trailers, and tons of great prizes to division winners.
Clinic days are a whirlwind of activity with classes geared toward helping riders of all skill levels and ages set and achieve their personal goals as horsemen and women. Students work on things like proper approach to the first barrel, how to “practice perfect”, proper hand placement, keeping control when adding speed, and building confidence. Also, they will learn from professionals about nutrition, how to choose the right bit and equipment, and saddle fitting. Every clinic concludes with a 4D race for a Martha Josey saddle and other prizes.
If you are ready to step up your game and reach your goals, a Josey clinic is where you want to be. For the full schedule and entry information head over to the Josey Ranch website at barrelracers.com where you can easily reserve your spot today.
