Tommy Manion holds NCHA and WCHA Hall of Fame titles

Tommy Manion is one of the most versatile and successful horsemen in equine history with a breeding program boasting more than $175 million in offspring earnings. Since the 80’s, Stallions owned by or standing at the Manion Ranch have won more than Two Million dollars in cutting, and sired horses whose earnings are in excess of a mind-blowing $175 million.  Manion has won more than 40 AQHA World Championships, and holds NCHA and WCHA Hall of Fame titles. The World Conformation Horse Association (WCHA) Hall of Fame recently recognized Manion as one of the best showmen to ever lead a horse in the pen. The Hall of Fame honor included a video that encapsulated Manion’s fascinating ascension in the horse business. He is the only horseman honored in the WCHA and the NCHA Hall of Fame. He shares the NCHA HOF distinction with his son Kyle.  The Manion Ranch has been home to AQHA and NCHA household names over many decades including Halter legends Tardy Too and Impressive. AQHA and NCHA Hall of Fame Stallion and cutting legend, Smart Little Lena was the first of only three stallions to ever win the NCHA Triple Crown.  The cutting legacy at the Manion Ranch began in the 80’s with Smart Little Lena where the stallion spent his nearly three decade long breeding career. His offspring earned in excess of $42 Million, topped by another Manion Ranch stallion, NCHA All-time leading sire High Brow Cat, whose offspring earned in excess of $83 Million.  Tommy and wife Chris amassed many AQHA World Championships in halter and performance, while Tommy and son Kyle boast the only Father/Son Workoff in NCHA history. 

The latest stallion with ties to the Manion Ranch is Smooth As A Cat, with offspring earnings of $32.5 million. Smooth as a Cat is the only NCHA Horse of the Year to sire two NCHA Horses of the Year. Theirs is truly a legacy of family, and exceptional horses that consistently produce exceptional horses with unprecedented earnings.
