Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity Condenses Schedule to September 16-20, 2020

Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity has revised their schedule for the fourth annual event to September 16-20, 2020 at the Reno-Sparks Livestock Event Center in Reno, Nev. The show will go on, despite the worldwide impacts of COVID-19, with the modified schedule accommodating Nevada’s state regulations on the pandemic.

“With the shortened schedule, we won’t have final rounds this year, but the competition for all Open and Non Pro futurity divisions and horse show classes, and the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity Horse Sale will still be held,” explained Dar Hanson, president of the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity. “The show days will likely be longer but this shortened schedule will make staying in compliance with Nevada’s COVID-19 restrictions more realistic.”

Due to the state’s COVID regulations, face coverings are required while on the Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center grounds, including in the barn area, unless on a horse. Also due to state regulations, the Reno Snaffle Bit Futurity is unable to sell spectator tickets.

“For those unable to be in Reno, we will still have the live webcast of the futurity and horse show competitions. The link to view the webcast will be posted on our website, www.renosnafflebitfuturity.com, and on our Facebook page,” said Hanson. “The horse sale and online bidding will also be available at www.snafflebitfuturitysales.com.”

Horses may start arriving in Reno on Sunday, Sept. 13. The draw date for all futurity divisions is scheduled for Sept. 4. All horse show classes will be drawn Sept. 9. Late entries received at the show will go at the top of the draw, in reverse order received. Futurity and horse show entry forms are available online at www.renosnafflebitfuturity.com/entry-forms.
