Wyo Quarter Horse Sale Brings Buyers From 21 States

May 20, 2017 marked the 34th Annual May Sale held by the Smith family and H. B. “Woody” Bartlett in Thermopolis, Wyoming.  Totally 50 sales have been held by this group including 16 September Sales.

A stellar set of 47 geldings sold for an average of $13,447 with the top 10 average being $20,300 and the top 20 coming in at a $17,725.  The top gelding was home raised and by Bill and Carole’s Stallion, ELS Scottish Nick.  Lot 20, Wyo Navy Blue Nick, a 6 year old blue roan gelding had been used on the ranch and was a nicely started head horse.  He will make his new home in Massachusetts.

10  two year olds started under saddle were popular with the buyers.  That average was $5533. The top selling two year old was raised by Bill and Carole and by ELS Scottish Nick. Lot 45, Wyo Cisco Kid, a buckskin gelding commanded a price of $7000. He  headed to Virginia.

Two fancy two year old stallions that were started under saddle, lot 29, Gimmie A Little Cat and lot 41, Cool Little Bob raised by Woody Bartlett, by Smooth As A Cat, sold for an average of $12, 250.    Both were out of mares with cutting earnings. One stallion stayed in Wyoming and the other went to Idaho.  Thanks Woody for offering these two outstanding individuals.

12 pretty and well bred, home raised yearling mares sold for an average of $2842.  Top seller was lot 71 Wyo Nick A Doodles, by ELS Scottish Nick,  owned by Bill and Carole Smith. She stayed in Wyoming.
